Contemporary dance and performance art maker, researcher, cultural manager, pedagogue, performer, writer and provocateur.

Their choreographic work has been presented around the world. They have been continuously developing a powerful artistic voice which transcends borders and truly captivates the audience.
After watching CATHARSES by Aloni in Copenhagen, the Danish author and critic Michael Svennevig wrote: “It felt as if I was seeing contemporary dance for the first time, as if it were a brand new fresh language”

Aloni’s work often addresses social-political topics and masterfully converses with the public discourse, such examples include; Boys Just Want To Have Fun (2024) which addresses taboos around male sensuality and sexuality; HERE THERE YET NOWHERE from the international co-production GODLIKE (2016), where Aloni interrogated the impact of fanaticism on sanity, #GHETTO (2017) they addressed the distractive effect of labels and tags on compassion and solidarity, and My Body My Nation (2019) where Aloni attempts to decolonise their own non-white, non-binary and non-conforming physical body from concepts, philosophies and behaviours have been forced upon it.

Aloni strongly believes in collaborative creation and making methodologies as means of stimulation and a necessity for the advancement of current practices. They see art as a catalyst of social and cultural narratives as well as an invaluable apparatus for the evolution of our communities.

Both in their artistic practice and the ways in which they initiate and manage international projects, Aloni purposefully promotes democratic, horizontal and equal practices in opposition to current regimes and governance, which threaten our liberty and safety.

As a performer for more than two decades, Aloni created and performed a vast repertoire of works by globally acclaimed choreographers such as Sasha Waltz, Mats Ek, Wim Vandekeybus, and Club Guy And Roni, to name a few.

In 2018 Aloni initiated and directed Tr.IPP, which was a unique pathway in Melbourne, Australia, mentored and fostered artists in the early stages of their careers.

Currently, Aloni is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of ilDance, an independent production body which is dedicated to contemporary dance working in and from Sweden; the architect and international project manager of International Contemporary Dance Collective (iCoDaCo) which is co-founded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. Aloni is also the Artistic Director of COMPASS which is an infrastructure for the support of both making and presentation contemporary dance by emerging artists across Sweden; Project researcher at Cultural Transformation Movement Project - an international cooperation project co-funded by Creative Europe, led by Trans Europe Halles; Partnering artist in Dancing Histor(y)ies which is an international cooperation project co-funded by Creative Europe and led by Associazione Enti Locali Per Le Attività di Cultura e di Spettacolo; Resident Practitioner at New Education For Contemporary Dance in Hörnösand, Sweden; Consultant and workshop leader for European Cooperation project management and application writing at the International Resource Office in Skåne, Sweden.
